Individual Images
1. Describe one photo that you agree with the judges on. Explain why you and the judges do or do not like it.
The picture with the soccer girl and the soccer on the floor i agree that it needs more in the picture and that the background is not good because it has a car and it catches your attention when it really shouldnt.
2. Describe one photo that you do NOT agree with the judges on. Explain why you think the judges are wrong.
I disagree with the judges on the picture with the guy holding a basketball. I think that it was a good photograph.

Portfolios
Travis Haughton
Problems:
-A picture was out of focus
-Dont like the picture with the sign in it
-Dont like how the back of the head dominates the picture
Like:
-There was a perfectly good sports pic
-In the gymnastics picture they the girl climbing the rope
My impression:
I like the portfolio but there were some pictures in there that i really didnt like and thought that he could of done a better job.
Nick Adams
Problems:
-Get a different topic
-Cut off too much of the head on football picture
-Too heavy on the right of the sunset picture with the little girl
Like:
-The headless cheerleader at the top
-How the picture fells the 4 corners
My Impression:
This portfolio didnt really interest me. Out of all the pictures i only liked about 3 of them.
Sam Adams
Problems:
-Light not so good
-Tilt too odd
-Telephone Line not good
Like:
-Like picture with the guy going through tunnel
-Like picture with volleyball girls
My Impression:
I didnt really like it, it was kind of boring.
Jordan Murph
Problems:
-The wave picture was stupid
-The picture was not as strong as others
-The portfolio starting getting a little bad
Like:
-Good portfolio at the beginning
-Nice composition
My Impression:
I think that this was a really good portfolio especially the first few pictures they were really good out of the portfolios i saw this one was my favorite.
Winning Portfolio: Dustin Snipes
What did the judges note as strengths as they were critiquing it?
They had good color and compostion and they were creative.
What do you see as strengths? Do you see any weaknesses?
A weakness that he had was having too much on a picture when it didnt need too much.
In the process of choosing the winner they had to look at all the portfolios and look at there pictures one by one then choose the good portfolios then from those choose the best portfolio.

GORDON PARKS PICTURE
My favorite photo by Gordan Parks was "Ella Watson and her Grandchildren 1942." When you look at the picture you can see expressions on their faces on what they are doing and how they feel. The lighting of the photo helps set the mood of the picture.

My favorite cover was #36 because it was just a picture of Princess Diana in black in white on a white layout which was plain but at the same time it catches your attention, and it also has the name of the magazine in yellow behind her but yet your focus goes on her and not the words.
